Job Description

Under general supervision the Sales Operations Lead as a member of the Inside Sales Team provides network infrastructure products and solutions to our customers. Coordinates customer requests with Purchasing Scheduling/Manufacturing and Shipping to fill product orders in a timely manner. Establishes relationships with customers to ensure total customer satisfaction and continued business. Generate internal and external reports in support of key account. Point of contact for key account team members for sales order management and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to inbound (phone and email) customer requests for product orders.
  • Provides technical information and works with customers to determine plan design standards and unique product requirements.
  • Advises customer of product pricing by generating quotes and purchase agreements.
  • Reviews inventory levels to verify product availability. When necessary places orders for additional materials with Purchasing.
  • Consults with Scheduling for the availability of manufacturing staff and shipping to build and deliver product to customers.
  • Collaborates with Engineering on special orders assists with product design to meet customers needs.
  • Generates quotes and purchase agreements
  • Analyzes orders to confirm appropriate packages are included to meet customer needs.
  • Keeps customers informed as to status of orders and shipment dates.
  • Engages in analytical problem solving for troubleshooting issues with an order invoice inventory and determines a resolution.
  • Act as liaison between Account Managers Manufacturing Purchasing and Finance.
  • Strives to meet sales quota in partnership with Account Managers.
  • Expands customer and prospective customer lists making contacts via cold calls emails marketing materials etc. Promotes and sells products at acceptable margins.
  • Offers management ideas and suggestions for process improvement.
  • Keeps up to date knowledge of structured cabling industry.
  • Shows comprehension and application of all in-house level 1 training materials
  • Generate accurate and timely reports in support of key account requirements
  • Support key account team with quote and sales order related activities
  • Oversee key account sales operations for timely and accurate execution
  • Systems training for new inside sales team members
  • Sales operations training for key account including quotes sales orders and customer specific reporting.
  • Support bulk cable business for key account (Metro)
  • Inventory Requests as directed by key account team
  • First escalation point for inside sales support

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of sales experience of network infrastructure products or similar hardware required.
  • Minimum of one year experience with network infrastructure and fiber optics required.
  • Experience interacting with customers to provide data center products and solutions.
  • Technical knowledge of network design and capabilities to include a basic understanding of fiber optics and cable assembly manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at peak performance in keeping the team focus goals and forecast in the forefront.
  • Computer skills Microsoft office products.
  • Specific qualifications of the position
  • Knowledge of sales operations processes including quotes orders and reporting

Working Conditions

  • Required to sit for most the day with occasional walking around the facility.
  • Manual dexterity used frequently with repetitive finger motion.
  • Occasional lifting to 25 pounds.
  • AFL is a fast paced and complex environment. Role is a highly visible role in the organization
  • Salary range for this role is $65000-$98000 per year based on experience.
