Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) programs provide comprehensive mobile treatment services for adults with a persistent mental health illness. The program is for individuals who have not found success in traditional outpatient settings and who require individualized treatment services when and where its needed.
What to expect:
The Psychiatrist provides direct psychiatric services through comprehensive evaluation diagnosis and treatment including prescribing and managing medications. Clients are seen in their homes or other community settings with visits occurring at least monthly. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team the Psychiatrist plays a key role in supporting stabilization recovery and ongoing community living. This role also emphasizes high-quality care effective communication and leadership within the ACT team.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations diagnoses and treatment including prescribing and managing medications.
- Perform home and community visits to deliver care directly to clients.
- Assess clients at least monthly monitoring symptoms treatment response and side effects.
- Participate in daily team meetings to review client needs plan schedules and anticipate potential crises.
- Provide crisis intervention and back-up psychiatric coverage as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with medical record standards.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to enhancing clinical care standards.

What we need from you:
- Board Certification in Psychiatry (or must obtain during eligibility period) and completion of a residency training program.
- Active Maryland medical license with Controlled Substances Registration and valid DEA Certificate.
- Minimum two years of clinical experience preferred including work with acute psychiatric patients.
- Expertise in psychotropic medications and comprehensive knowledge of mental health treatment.
- Ability to perform psychiatric assessments develop treatment plans and manage ongoing care.
- Strong therapeutic communication and interpersonal skills with patients families and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and foster a supportive work environment.
The pay range for this position is $240000 minimum to $285000 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to board certifications and years and level of related experience.
