Job Description:
Manages the end user hardware and software systems (desktop laptop and mobile devices); ensures optimal functioning of the end user systems; safeguards end user systems and data; configures and uses device management systems; maintains open communications with IT management; ensures inventories are accurate and current; and assists with the advancement of information technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Helps ensure end users technology is optimally functioning
- Executes installs to computers and resolves software and/or hardware installation issues
- Ensures connectivity access meets end users needs
- Ensures inventories are accurate and current
- Handles IT Asset Disposal protocols
- Safeguards end user systems and data
- Installs configures and maintains anti-virus and anti-malware products
- Evaluates threats and assesses security applications ability to mitigate those threats - makes recommendations for new security products as needed
- Develops and implements procedures for cleaning infected devices
- Configures and uses device management systems
- Represents the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
- Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as needed/assigned
- Has good communication organizational skills and is available for after hours or weekend work if needed
- Must be detail oriented and excellent follow-through skills essential
- Ability to work diplomatically and effectively with all constituents
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt the new knowledge to application
- Ability to ask questions as necessary able to analyze a situation provide one-on-one feedback and effectively handle and resolve problems
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Computer Science MIS or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A certification or willingness to obtain
- Two years experience installing maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware software and network connectivity issues
- Apple experience is a plus
- Good problem solving skills and root cause analysis techniques essential
