Responsibilities

The Temporary Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the quality standards of film roll products and customer expectations are met. This role involves inspecting measuring documenting and collaborating with production teams to maintain high-quality production standards. The inspector monitors various aspects of film roll quality including film treatment opacities shrinkage tearing surface conditions edge quality and roll stability. They are also responsible for identifying and reporting potential customer concerns related to product quality. Among the inspectors regular duties they are also tasked with auditing the standard line conditions as required by operational guidelines.

Inspecting Materials: Examine finished products to verify they meet company and customer specifications.

Measuring and Testing: Use precision measurement tools to check product durability functionality and safety; ensure accurate gauge profiles across the film web.

Documenting Results: Record inspection results including any defects or deviations in reports and logs.

Communication: Notify supervisors of any quality issues and work together on corrective actions to fix them.

Training: Collaborate with the QA and Operations teams to train operators on quality standards and procedures enhancing production quality.

Record Maintenance: Keep detailed records and logs as part of the quality analysis process to evaluate adherence to customer expectations. Start the escalation process quickly when necessary to resolve issues effectively.

Customer Concern Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with investigating the root causes of any customer-reported issues within the manufacturing process and implement solutions.

Film Treatment Monitoring: Monitor film treatment aspects including opacities tearing surface defects shrinkage and edge quality to ensure smooth slitted edges on film rolls.

Process Audit: Conduct random audits to ensure alignment with standard line conditions.

Roll Resistance and Consistency: Ensure film rolls are consistently wound within specific hardness and variance tolerances.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of extrusion processes and quality control methods; experience with film roll production preferred.
  • Quality Inspection Experience: 1 year in a similar quality inspection role ideally within extrusion film or related manufacturing.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training or certifications in quality assurance are a plus.
