Job Description
SA Recycling a recognized leader in the metal recycling industry is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Yard Supervisor. The Yard Supervisor will primarily be responsible for overseeing the daily work activities of all yard personnel. You will provide leadership guidance and direction in yard organization inventory handling and control the promotion of a safe working environment obtainment of operational goals and backing up the General Manager as needed. This position requires the flexibility to work 40 hours per week and on Saturdays as needed/required.

Responsibilities of a Yard Supervisor
- Champion a positive and safe work environment for all employees customers suppliers and vendors.
- Assist in the safety and security of the employees inventory and equipment as well as identifying and implementing the appropriate operations maintenance and training certifications for all applicable employees.
- Partner with the General Manager on the development of daily operational plans and the assignment of employees to meet stated goals.
- Set example for and monitor employees for adherence to safety quality and environmental goals and guidelines.
- Mentor lead and train yard personnel.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operations of all yard activities in meeting quality and operational goals.
- Supervise yard operations to include the loading and unloading sorting and processing of all scrap materials.
- Responsible for interacting effectively and respectfully with all yard personnel suppliers customers and other visitors.
- Complete daily inspections and reports.
- Back up General Manager as needed with all employee training operations and EHS audits and inspections and other duties as needed.
Qualifications of a Yard Supervisor
- High School Diploma or GED; Bachelors or Associates Degree in a related field of study preferred.
- 3 5 years experience in the scrap metal or related industry preferred.
- 2 years of supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing or production setting preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work in an outdoor environment and in all types of weather.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal).
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.
