You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Senior Technical Advisor for Secondary Education will provide strategic leadership technical expertise and guidance for the development and implementation of learning initiatives for junior and senior secondary students. This role will work closely with program teams Ministry of Education staff educational institutions and stakeholders to design and scale effective interventions that bridge learning gaps support curriculum adaptation and improve student outcomes. The Advisor should have 8 years of leadership experience providing remedial learning models and/or secondary education best practices to ensure high-quality program delivery and evidence-based strategies.
Functional Responsibilities
Provide overall strategic input and technical oversight to advance the projects approach in supporting the Government of the Liberia Secondary Education delivery and systems;
Provide strategic and technical guidance support to Ministry of Education to review/adapt policies and implementation framework pertaining to secondary education in Liberia;
Provide strategic and technical support in strengthening MoE capacities in line with LIT Liberia secondary education agenda;
Guide technical-staff on essential components of including curriculum design lesson planning teacher professional development materials development and distribution classroom-level assessment universal design for learning learner centered pedagogy and social and emotional learning to develop and integrate highly effective and accessible activities to maximize outcomes;
Supervise the production of activity-supported materials trainings teacher and classroom supervision and monitoring and student assessments;
Contribute to the design and implementation of the projects learning agenda;
Work with home office experts and local partners to ensure activity relevance and quality;
Assist in organizing and co-facilitating workshops to adapt curriculum engaging with all project implementing partners and key project staff.
Provide technical guidance build capacity and contribute to the overall quality and effectiveness of secondary education includes ensuring programs align with national and international standards supporting monitoring and evaluation efforts and representing the organization in relevant forums.
Organize and facilitate periodic technical working group meetings as necessary to secure key project stakeholder views and recommendations for revisions of the work readiness training materials and delivery mechanisms.
Prepare and contribute to the preparation of periodic planning progress reports and annual reports showing achievements against output and outcome targets.
Participate in partner coordination meetings and other activities or events as requested by EDC Deputy Country Director and Country Director.
Facilitate arrangements for organizing meetings trainings and workshops.
Provide technical assistance to Implementation staff and partners as needed.
Be the Point of Contact (PoC) for the Education Sector Coordination/Working Group; and inform LIT planning and positioning LIT accordingly.
The person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients consultants collaborators co-workers field sites and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requires adherence to EDC policies & procedures.

Education:
Skills and Experience:
A minimum of 7-8 years of progressively responsibility and relevant experience;
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory and management experience;
Experience working at the secondary education level including work with curriculum development and teacher training;
Extensive experience with providing quality assurance and monitoring program implementation using qualitative and quantitative approaches;
Strong organizational communication computer leadership and interpersonal skills;
Good technical writing skills;
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders;
Willingness to travel to counties covered by the project.
