The Department of English seeks a One-Year Full-Time Lecturer for 2025-2026. This position is for one academic year (2025-2026). The Department of English at the University of Central Oklahoma is committed to recruiting and maintaining a diverse faculty and to creating a welcoming environment for all.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The teaching load is 15 credit-hours (which is typically five courses) per semester. Primary teaching responsibilities could include Developmental English and First-Year Composition as well as concurrent sections of First-Year Composition taught off-site in local high schools; courses in other areas may be assigned as departmental need requires.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
An M.A. or MFA in English or a closely related field and a commitment to high-quality teaching are required.
Preferred:
Preference will be given to applicants whose degree is in Composition and/or Rhetoric or a related field and who have at least two years of experience teaching First-Year Composition in a college or university setting.
