The New York City Housing Authority Information Technology (NYCHA IT) Department is seeking a motivated talented and highly skilled candidate to serve as Senior Manager and lead a new team focused on Network Architecture and Engineering. This individual should have a solid understanding of core network architecture and familiarity with industry best practices for routing and switching design within a large complex network.
The size of NYCHAs public-facing Internet and supporting environment has grown considerably and will continue to increase significantly in size and complexity. NYCHA is actively introducing new applications as well as incorporating cloud-based solutions into the NYCHA network environment. The Senior Manager for Network Architecture and Engineering will contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide network strategy. The Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring network technology at NYCHA remains secure scalable sustainable and resilient to support NYCHA business operations.
Under direction of the Director of Network and Telecomm with latitude for independent judgement responsibilities for the Senior Manager will include but are not limited to the following:
-Analyze design implement document and monitor network infrastructure to maximize performance and capacity; ensure security and availability of data.
-Develop and maintain up to date network architecture documentation for enterprise business security and other related IT solutions concepts and strategies to meet business requirements.
-Define and maintain the methodology principles roadmap standards and guidelines for the network architecture team for security reuse interoperability and integration.
-Ensure and maintain compliance with architecture standards and guidelines throughout the application development lifecycle.
-Work closely with NYCHA Enterprise Solutions Management teams as a solutions architect aligning with the overall enterprise engineering/architecture vision. Establish secure and industry compliant specifications for new network solutions.
-Serve as Network Subject Matter Expert for new technologies trends and upgrades to ensure NYCHA and its network engineers are up to date on newer technologies.
-Analyze and make recommendations regarding the possibility of optimizing and enhancing existing functionalities.
-Assist in the development and review of technical specifications for the procurement of IT systems and services including the evaluation of vendor submissions solicited via bids requests for information and proposals. Liaise with IT vendors as necessary.
-Execute special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations cloud engineering and operations complex IT infrastructure engineering; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations cloud engineering and operations complex IT infrastructure engineering; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above.
