here.To keep LPL progressing forward the Multimedia Specialist brings the Lexington Public Library brand to life through dynamic and compelling storytelling optimized for a range of print and digital media. This person is strategic and creative producing digitally fluent content that supports the librarys goals and priorities by executing marketing department strategies. Collaboration and independence are essential for this role.
Starting Hourly Pay
$46535.00 - $65800.00 (starting salary will depend upon skills and experience)
Primary Work Schedule
Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.
Night and weekend availability as needed.

- Manages end-to-end video and photography production to align with department strategies and library priorities including ideation storyboarding/planning equipment set-up sound production color correction and editing for multiple platforms (social web and beyond).
- Produces engaging creative brand stories to tell through video and photo content with an emphasis on social media channels.
- Contributes to the planning and implementation of ongoing library marketing and special campaigns for social media the web print and beyond.
- Identifies trends and opportunities in the social media space helping to increase LPLs brand awareness and voice.
- Attends and photographs library programs and events to capture photo and video that support library marketing initiatives and campaigns.
- Organizes files and maintains archive of photos and video assets. Acts as internal point of contact for this content with other departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
This job may be a good fit for you if you have
- Associates degree in media communications or related field required.
- 1 year demonstrated experience in video production editing photography social media management or related field required.
- Portfolio encouraged.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Apple computer operating systems.
- Fluency in digital platforms including Instagram Instagram Reels TikTok YouTube etc.
- Experienced with Adobe Creative Suite video editing software Microsoft Office and project management platforms.
- Skilled in video production and editing.
- Skilled in capturing editing and organizing photos optimized for a wide range of campaigns and initiatives.
- Experience in developing scripts storyboards and any other pre-production processes for video production.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the marketing team and other library departments.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Strong project management skills.
- Comfortable adapting to change and experimenting in new platforms/media styles.
- Strong understanding of audience marketing platforms and strategies.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to create content within established brand standards.
- Ability to accept and accommodate feedback on processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Must successfully pass a background investigation.
- Must have a valid drivers license with a safe driving record.

Physical and Mental Requirements
- Ability to walk extensively climb stairs lift and carry containers weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted over 40 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to sit for long periods operate computer keyboard for long periods.
