Your opportunity
The Group Manager Environment & Sustainability is a key strategic and operational role within the SHES function to ensure the companys environmental and sustainability systems strategies and targets are effectively developed and implemented.
This role will work closely with internal stakeholders including CIMIC and OpCo Sustainability Leadership Business Unit General Managers and Regional Environmental Managers. We are looking for a skilled Environment and Sustainability professional to join the team that has proven construction project delivery experience. The position location can be based at CPB office location in Australia including Brisbane Perth Sydney or Melbourne.
Key accountabilities are to:
- Lead the development and implementation of corporate sustainability and environmental strategies aligned with domestic and international standards.
- Providing strategic oversight of environmental risk compliance and performance across the business.
- Supporting the delivery of SHES transformation through coaching mentoring and capability building across business units.
- Monitoring changes to environmental and sustainability legislation and providing expert guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Leading external engagement and representing CPB Contractors in relevant sustainability and environmental forums.
Skills & experience:
- Over 10 years experience in the sustainability/environment industry ideally within infrastructure construction or resource sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing environmental and sustainability management systems (including ISO 14001 Green Star IS Rating).
- Experience leading sustainability strategy and reporting across large multidisciplinary project environments.
- Strong ability to influence educate and empower senior stakeholders across business units.
- A recognised bachelors degree in environmental science sustainable development engineering architecture or related discipline (postgraduate qualifications in sustainability highly regarded).
This role supports the CPB Contractors business across Australia New Zealand and Papua New Guinea and will be based in one of our HQ locations.
