Weatherization (Wx)
Assessor/Inspector I
Hours: Monday - Thursday
Status: Full Time
Reports to: Wx Field Supervisor
Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Field Supervisor and the Director of Operations this position will perform assessments inspections cost analysis and create materials lists. Will review work estimates on each unit for accuracy and compliance.
Duties Functions and Responsibilities:
- Review work estimates on each unit to obtain a cost breakdown of materials and labor. Acquire knowledge of quality and pricing of weatherization materials.
- Will interpret and implement work orders and learn how to properly use agency tools and equipment including computer software programs.
- Assess and inspect actual weatherization installation reviews on each dwelling to make sure work is completed in accordance with the weatherization standards as set forth in the weatherization programs.
- Completely and accurately fill out all required forms and documents and report all work progress to supervisor.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required.
- Other duties as may be assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess the ability to accurately measure and calculate the square feet and cubic feet of doors windows and the entire home.
- Must be comfortable within confined spaces. (attics crawl spaces)
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain information and handle client issues in a friendly patient respectful and professional manner.
- Interpersonal skills to work closely with other staff members as it pertains to potential participants gathering necessary data and advice as needed.
- Must be able to keep information confidential.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word Excel and Outlook.
- Must have the ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of experience in energy conservation and/or home rehabilitation program or residential contractor work.
- Must obtain AND maintain the following certifications:
- Building Analyst Technician and Building Analyst Professional
- ASHRAE training Mold 101 training Radon training.
- OSHA 10 minimum
- Health & Safety indoor Air Pollutants and Lead-Safe Weatherization
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Random drug screenings are performed.
- Must have a current NV drivers license and clear DMV record. Driver History Reports are required to be submitted on a quarterly basis.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in various locations with driving required at times. May be subject to sitting standing walking bending lifting squatting pushing and pulling and simple grasping. May be expected to stand for extended periods of time with exposure to hot and cold environments.
