Job Description

We are currently in search of a full-time Volunteer & Community Engagement Specialist to join our Oklahoma City OK Distribution Center team! The Volunteer Engagement Supervisor isresponsible for the overall operational support of Feed the Childrens volunteer engagement and the Feed the Children Partner Market if applicable with strong emphasis on event management and communications. This includes maintaining and leveraging relationships with local businesses community leaders local officials homeowners associations schools etc. to promote and foster engagement in Feed the Children volunteer activities. This position will report directly to the Director of Program Innovation.

Job Requirements:

Education

High school diploma or GED required

Experience

2 years of related experience in staff and/or volunteer recruitment leadership and management required

Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining a high attention to detail required

Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with others through innovative and collaborative ways by demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with diverse groups of individuals and aligning their interest skills and talents with organizational objectives required

Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office products such as Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint SharePoint and Teams required

Experience working with general Warehouse Management System software preferred

Experience in non-profit work preferred

Any combination of education training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job may be considered.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid drivers license with clean driving record required

Essential Job Functions:

Collaborates with other departments to align volunteer and events/program needs while ensuring adequate inventory levels meet distribution needs.

Schedules and manages volunteer opportunities to support Feed the Children programs and events as applicable.

Oversees the volunteer enrollment experience to ensure volunteer satisfaction for signing up and participating in volunteer opportunities.

Schedules and manages volunteers to complete activities including but not limited to box kit or backpack packing donation sorting and Partner Market support (if applicable) to meet program needs and ensure optimal distribution of products to community partners.

Assists in developing scheduling and conducting ongoing volunteer orientations and trainings.

Ensures that each volunteer is treated with respect and has a positive memorable experience with Feed the Children when volunteering at the distribution center.

Conducts thorough orientations for each volunteer including safety protocols ensuring each volunteer has a safe work environment to work within and has an understanding of safety policies and procedures within the distribution center

Manages the Feed the Children Partner Market operations (if applicable) including the distribution event schedule the registration site volunteer recruitment customer service maintaining visual standards and tracking impact data.

Plays a key role in community awareness development by communicating initiatives including but not limited to: identifying and engaging community leaders through Feed the Children volunteer events making presentations to service clubs interacting or partnering with other local non-profit organizations and supervising the volunteer program at the Distribution Center in a way that supports the work and mission of Feed the Children.

Promotes volunteer opportunities through networking by e-mail telephone and attending volunteer fairs.

Develops and manages relationships in the community as well as a strong volunteer base.

Tracks and reports on volunteer metrics as directed by the Director of Program Innovation.

Manages records indicating the need for ordering receiving storing and replenishing products for the designated product lines and Partner Market (if applicable) to maintain adequate inventory levels for distribution.

Creates shipping documents including Bills of Lading and Packing Slips.

Assists with quarterly and annual inventory including but not limited to printing pallet location sheets distributing sheets counting pallets and items and performing data entry functions and adjustments after counts.

As directed by the Director of Program Innovation may provide operational support to daily distribution center functions including operating warehouse equipment based on current certification training and safety protocols.

As directed coordinates with the Corporate Partnership team to host volunteering in the Distribution Center or Resource Rallies to further steward relationships

Captures volunteer data in customer relationship management system and ensures accuracy of data as requested.

As directed by the Director of Program Innovation develops on-going communications strategy to thank volunteers and continue engagement with volunteers for return experiences. Partner with other departments to create cultivation plans to engage volunteers as brand champions and donors.

Carries out volunteer supervisory responsibility in accordance with policies procedures and applicable laws including training in job skills; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Maintains attendance and punctuality which are critical in order to complete the day-to-day tasks of this position.

Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and laws; maintain accountability standards.

Models the type and level of behavior professionalism and leadership that is in accordance with the values of the organization

Performs other related duties as required.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this jobthe employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
