Were searching for an enthusiastic and highly skilled Revenue Cycle Supervisor to be a key player in our growing organization at the Community Health this vital role youll be the go-to expert for all things related to provider documentation medical coding and insurance billing serving as the primary contact for our Revenue Cycle operations.

Youll manage and collaborate on critical program initiatives ensuring alignment with our departmental and divisional goals. Plus youll provide essential leadership and oversight to our talented Coding Specialist team optimizing workflows and fostering an environment of efficiency productivity and customer service excellence.

As the Revenue Cycle Supervisor you will:

  • Oversee and optimize key Revenue Cycle operations: This includes planning directing and participating in crucial functions such as coding provider documentation improvement HCC reporting risk adjustment programs insurance billing and managing payments and denials. Youll also be responsible for identifying and implementing workflow and technology improvements and developing innovative approaches to maximize revenue and ensure compliant practices.

  • Collaborate and lead interdepartmental initiatives: Youll work closely with various internal and external partners including the Revenue Cycle Manager Medical Director(s) and Senior Leadership to coordinate program improvements. This role also involves serving as an expert on documentation coding and billing for various workgroups and representing the organization in meetings with external groups like Oregon Health Plan (OHP) and CareOregon.

  • Lead and develop the Coding Specialist team: Youll provide direct supervision manage workflow set priorities and establish performance goals for the team. This includes hiring ongoing coaching performance improvement and professional development to ensure accurate billing reduce denials and foster a high-performing service-oriented work environment that aligns with our mission.

  • Champion operational excellence and team advocacy: Youll ensure revenue cycle workflows and practices are compliant with policy by communicating changes providing training and developing essential job aids. As a member of the division leadership team youll advocate for your teams needs and actively promote a culture of inclusion and equity.

  • Develop analyze and report on Revenue Cycle metrics: Collaborate with leadership to identify develop and maintain metrics related to coding billing and insurance payments. This includes analyzing trends preparing reports and presenting data and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance and optimize revenue collection: Examine and audit guidance documents records systems and procedures to ensure adherence to professional standards. Monitor trends in denials insurance payments and accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate billing and collection within payer guidelines and contracts.

  • Ensure comprehensive compliance and best practices: Proactively research and interpret federal state and local regulations policies and laws to guarantee compliance in provider documentation coding and billing. Analyze industry best practices and trends implement recommendations and report on changes in payer requirements.

  • Identify and address operational deficiencies: In collaboration with the Revenue Cycle Manager assess the adequacy of internal controls review audit scopes and recommend corrective actions to senior management regarding program operations. Collect and analyze data to detect inefficiencies waste fraud or non-compliance and coordinate efforts to ensure adherence to established policies and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

Education/Training: Equivalent to a bachelors degree (In lieu of a degree we will consider relevant education and experience); AND

Experience: Three (3) to six (6) years of experience that demonstrates the abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Everyday Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities. Location: Gladys McCoy Building 619 NW 6th Ave Portland OR 97209. This position is eligible for routine telework however the incumbent must reside in Oregon or Washington.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Note: All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. We are not able to sponsor H-B1 visas F1 or STEM OPT.
