About the service:
The Medicare Mental Health Services are free and you do not need an appointment referral or Medicare card to visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre. The new services in Devonport Burnie and Outer Hobart are co-funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments to provide a streamlined approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.
The service is tailored to the needs of the community in Tasmania and provides a combination of peer-integrated recovery and clinical support.

Role overview:
The Community Engagement Coordinator seeks opportunities to reach out to people with mental health issues and the communities that support them to provide health education raise mental health literacy and community awareness and link people to appropriate services.
You will develop facilitate and evaluate a range of community events and health and education programs designed to improve mental health literacy and community awareness of challenges faced by people with mental illness in order to increase early identification and help them to get early access to appropriate services.
You will work closely with our clinical team to understand the services that Medicare Mental Health Centre provides to advocate our services to the wider community.
