Position Summary:
The Senior Strategic Advisor for Sales & Growth is a new role designed to position the organization for sustainable growth by fostering a sales-oriented mindset across teams aligning external communications with the organizations sales vision and serving as a senior representative in promoting services to clients and host governments.
The role is based within the Presidents Office reporting to the CEO for strategic advice and the COO for operational work flow and prioritization. This is a highly collaborative role connecting with departments across the organization to be a catalyst in driving forward a bold new approach to closing deals with a much broader range of clients.
This is a full-time fixed term (12-month) position with the possibility for extension based on performance and organizational need.
This position must be able to travel 25% or more annually including to insecure and difficult environments as required for standard domestic and international business purposes.
Responsibilities:
1.Strategic Relationship Management & Business Development
- Working closely with the COO and his team act as senior representative in catalysing the organizations services to key stakeholders including current clients and host government officials.
- Proactively seek and cultivate new business opportunities in existing and new markets in coordination with Managing Directors of Program Business Units (PBUs).
- Serve as a strategic partner between client/government needs and internal capabilities.
2.Internal Sales Culture & Enablement
- Collaborate primarily with Managing Directors of PBUs to instill a growth mindset and client-value focus.
- Partner with the the Managing Director for People and Culture and the Learning & Development function to develop training tools and messaging to help team members articulate the organizations value in their roles as sales agents.
- Identify and advise on ways to remove internal barriers that limit new sales opportunities.
3.Brand and Messaging Alignment
- Working with the Marketing & Communications (Marcom) team specifically the Senior Director for Strategic Communications to support an ongoing comprehensive review of existing marketing and communication materials.
- Ensure that the organizations language tone and messaging reflect its vision and value proposition consistently across platforms (website brochures pitch decks etc.).
- Collaborate with Marcom and/or external consultants to revamp materials as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 10 years of professional experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience must include leadership positions in international development and sales.
- Background and strong familiarity with the agricultural sector and international trade; familiarity with emerging technologies and the health sector are pluses.
- A track record in deal-making ideally in international development programs or related areas.
- Validated strong networks with high level contacts in strategically aligned countries and professional areas.
- A proven record of strong collaboration and interpersonal and leadership skills leading staff and being part of a team-oriented culture.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills including a demonstrated ability to initiate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a passion and ability to align the organizations mission with new business and philanthropic activities.
- Must be able to plan organize develop implement and interpret organizational goals objectives policies and procedures.
- Must demonstrate flexibility in approaching problems.
- Adaptive attitude towards quick environment changes with high level of resilience commitment and focus.
- Excellent English written and oral skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with a multicultural workforce with sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of French or Spanish a plus.

Working Conditions Travel and Environment
- Corus has a hybrid work policy allowing work to be done remotely; two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) in the office is required. The employee must be available to work outside normal office hours or weekends as required.
- This position must be able to travel as required for standard domestic and international business purposes. While performing the duties of this job in different locations the employee may be exposed to precarious settings under high-security risks and/or very basic living conditions and outside weather conditions as well as to infectious diseases.
- If applicable must have authorization to work in the country of assignment.
