POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Planner is an advanced role in the supply chain team. With limited supervision this role will manage the planning and sourcing of materials supporting strategic accounts - optimizing stock levels to meet stated inventory targets while supporting the plants production schedule. The senior material planner will be responsible for partnering with vendors and managing internal inventory levels to support 100% on-time delivery to key customers and meet cost goals. This individual will also support strategic sourcing decision making and collaborate with engineering & production leaders across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Owns the end-to-end MRP process for assigned portfolio maintaining material levels to support 100% on-time delivery while also meeting cost goals for assigned portfolio. This includes inventory management accounting for changes to demand obsolescence and prevention of excess inventory.
- Issues/monitors open purchase orders and takes action to expedite/de-expedite parts as needed to support customer demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Maintains relationships with suppliers; leads recurring connects with critical vendors to review upcoming orders communicate projected future demand and address any anticipated risks to supply.
- Monitors supplier performance including on-time in full delivery rates and quality adherence. Escalates performance issues to sourcing team as needed for support.
- Reviews freight reports identifies root cause for expedited costs and charges back suppliers when appropriate.
- Utilizes the 80/20 concept of Plan For Every Part (PFEP) to determine appropriate safety stock levels through detailed analytics and executes plans to achieve set targets accordingly. Liaisons with operations and commercial leaders to understand future sales forecast and ensure inventory stock levels support future business needs.
- Manages the implementation of prototype new listing and modified components as driven by ECOs and Engineering orders.
- Monitors material consumption vs. forecast. Identifies misalignments in demand vs. supply and potential opportunities for MOQ changes SKU rationalization etc. to address such gaps.
- Supports the Commodity Management team in strategic sourcing decisions including pricing T&C negotiations cost management and supplier development.
- Understands the import customs and broker process; supports any import compliance audits.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.
- Advanced understanding of data/root cause analytics
- Advanced knowledge of ERP Systems (J.D. Edwards preferred)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
5 years of relevant experience in purchasing sourcing or finance required Bachelors degree or equivalent from four-year university (preferably with a focus in Supply Chain Management finance or engineering) or equivalent experience Demonstrate knowledge of MRP and Bill of Material maintenance. APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) certification is preferred

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $83800.00 - $125800.00 depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.Benefits Package
