Job Description
Stevens Institute of Technology is a leading private research university in Hoboken New Jersey recognized for its strengths in engineering science and technology. The university is committed to innovation hands-on learning and preparing students for real-world success.
The Department of Systems & Enterprises within the Charles V. Schaefer Jr. School of Engineering and Science emphasizes systems thinking and tackling complex challenges across industries. The department offers a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering supported by prominent research centers such as the Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC) and the Center for Complex Systems & Enterprises (CCSE).
We are seeking qualified Adjuncts to teach Systems Engineering courses. Adjuncts are responsible for delivering course content evaluating student performance and fostering a positive engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver lectures assignments and assessments in alignment with course objectives and department standards.
Facilitate student learning through clear instruction meaningful discussions and real-world applications.
Evaluate and grade student work in a timely fair and constructive manner.
Provide academic support through office hours or scheduled meetings.
Collaborate with the department chair and faculty to ensure course consistency and quality.
Submit final grades and any required reports by established deadlines.
Stay current with developments in the field and incorporate relevant content into the course as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a relevant field is ; a Masters or Ph.D. in Systems Engineering Industrial Engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Science or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
Professional experience in systems engineering or a related industry.
Prior teaching experience at the college or graduate level is preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to engage and support a diverse student population.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time non-tenure-track position.
Courses may be taught in-person online or in a hybrid format depending on program needs.
Adjunct appointments are made on a semester-by-semester basis.

In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act the base salary range for this position is listed below. This range represents the Universitys good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the positions scope and responsibilities the candidates experience education skills internal equity market data and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget qualifications and relevant credentials.
Lecturer Equivalent: $8000
Senior Lecturer Equivalent: $9200
Assistant Professor Equivalent: $9200
Associate Professor Equivalent: $10300
Professor Equivalent: $11450
Professor Equivalent Distinguished: $12000
