About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer iOS on the Roku Mobile App team youll play a key role in shaping the future of how users interact with Roku streaming devices smart TVs and mobile applications. Youll be responsible for building reliable high-performance iOS experiences that empower customers to control and monitor their Roku devices easily.This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies including Swift SwiftUI and Apples latest frameworks while solving challenging problems at scale. Youll collaborate closely with product design and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative features and optimize performance. What Youll Be Doing
- Design and develop advanced applications and features for the iOS platform to enhance Rokus mobile experiences
- Integrate with cloud APIs and local device communication protocols to enable seamless interaction with smart devices
- Write and maintain automated tests using XCTest and XCUITest frameworks to ensure app quality and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and deliver innovative features optimizing for touch-based interactions and user experiences
- Debug profile and optimize app performance across a wide range of iOS devices to ensure smooth and reliable functionality
- Participate in design and code reviews to uphold and improve code quality maintainability and team standards
- Stay informed about Apples latest platform advancements tools and frameworks and propose ways to integrate them into our products
- Contribute to roadmap planning technical design discussions and the successful delivery of high-quality releases
Were Excited If You Have
- 3 years of professional iOS development experience with expertise in Swift and/or SwiftUI
- A degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- A proven track record of shipping and maintaining production apps in the Apple App Store
- Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot ChatGPT) to enhance development workflows including prompt engineering
- Knowledge of IoT or networked device interactionsexperience with BLE WebSockets or MQTT protocols is a strong plus
- Proficiency with the iOS development toolset including Xcode Instruments and the Simulator
- A deep understanding of iOS architecture UI/UX design patterns and the mobile app lifecycle
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional agile teams working closely with product managers designers and QA engineers
