Job Description

The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Director Football Recruiting Operations. This is a full-time (probationary and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 250 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The Director Football Recruiting Operations is responsible for planning developing coordinating and providing administrative services for the Hansen Football Performance Center and assisting the Head Football Coach Director of Football Operations and Football Chief of Staff/GM with the management of the daily operational needs of the unit. This position requires work in the evenings weekends and holidays as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • One year (FTE) work experience within football recruiting at the NCAA level performing administrative office support work while maintaining strict confidentiality;
  • Experience in planning organizing and executing events and coordinating resources before during and after events;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail organizational and critical thinking skills and ability to be proactive;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to complete multiple projects and meet deadlines simultaneously;
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available on the desktop (such as MS Office Suite TeamWorks ACS or equivalent) please specify software used.
  • A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the professionalism and intensity necessary to successfully contribute to a Division I athletics program;
  • Two or more years of experience providing administrative support in a professional office environment;
  • Working knowledge of and the ability to effectively supervise and manage part-time temporary staff to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly;
  • Genuine passion for and experience with supporting the holistic development of student-athletes recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and overall well-being.
