The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is the states lead conservation agency and it takes a diverse agency to conserve resources for a diverse commonwealth.
Virginias award-winning state park system a division of DCR boasts an incredible and diverse array of natural cultural historical and recreational resources including parks in the mountains on the ocean on the Chesapeake Bay on 8 major rivers on 4 major lakes 4 rail trails 3 battlefield sites and 32 sites listed on the National Historic Registry. Our parks encompass over 75000 acres offering campsites cabins trails shorelines lakes and ponds international dark sky sites and over 20000 educational programs and workshops each year.
DCR is hiring! Join us in preserving what people care about most access to the outdoors natural habitats open spaces clean water and safe infrastructure. Culpeper Battlefields State Park is accepting applications for a Park Ranger Maintenance.
Located in Culpeper County Culpeper Battlefields State Park is currently under development. When complete the park will protect preserve and interpret the history of five separate battles that occurred in and around Culpeper during the Civil War as well as the impact the war had on the local community.
As the Park Ranger Maintenance you will join an exceptional team and be responsible for supervising maintenance operations to ensure facilities and grounds are safe and meet current standards.
Primary job duties include:

Ability to work in diverse conditions including exposure to the outdoors weather in all seasons dust animals and insects is required. Ability to perform heavy manual labor to include standing bending pulling climbing and frequent lifting up to 50 pounds is required. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid drivers license certifications in CPR First Aid or other certifications as required. This position requires shift work which includes weekends and holidays.
