Job Description

Overview

Monterey Park Hospital a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County is seeking an Admitting Representative for our Admitting Department. This is a part-time 8-hour variable shift position reporting to the Admitting Director. The variable shift includes evenings graveyard & weekends. Days off will vary.

Responsibilities

The Admitting Representative is responsible for greeting the patient as they arrive registering patients into the hospitals ADT system verifying and validating all the patient information including medical insurance and delivering that information to the different service units. These tasks are performed in a variety of settings such as ER Department Outpatient and direct admit transfers. The Admitting Rep will also take PBX rotations as needed.

Qualifications

  1. BLS (AHA) & AB508 certifications must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  2. Knowledge of patient registration process.
  3. Knowledge of HMOs PPO Capitation Medi-Cal Medicare Workers Comp. HIPAA & EMTALA.
  4. Excellent Customer Service skills are necessary above-average collection skills and Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred.
  5. High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  6. 2 years experience preferred.
