Job Description

Typical Duties of a Truck Wash Supervisor include:

  • Supervises and coordinates daily operational activities of truck wash.
  • Communicate daily goals and work assignments effectively with employees and maintain budgeted hours.
  • Execute daily wash schedule to ensure all trailers are processed for same and next day operations.
  • Responsible for routine operation and maintenance of building and equipment.
  • Oversee inspection of the processed trailers for cleanliness to ensure company quality standards have been met.
  • Hook up trailers with day cab semi-truck moves trailers in and out of wash bay and Bio-Dri as required.
  • Promote safe work habits and comply with all company personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Report all accidents and/or work related injuries of personnel to the appropriate Safety manager and incident tracking system.
  • Engage employees using Performance Management to communicate expectations drive performance and reinforce positive behaviors.
  • Oversee training and coaching of employees on how to power wash the entire trailer including gates ramps ceilings I-beams and floors with a flush hose and turbo tip power washer.
  • Work hand in hand with employees perform role of power washer as needed.
  • Partner with Human Resources in recruiting hiring on-boarding and development of new team members in alignment with company policies for hiring staffing discipline and terminations.
  • Maintain all housekeeping responsibilities for the facility which includes trash removal laundry and performs other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Supervisory Experience (1 year)

License

Class A CDL preferred

1) Knowledge of:

  • Bio-Security precautions relating to pork production facilities.
  • Transport power washer SOP.

2) Skill in:

  • Washing equipment with high powered washers
  • Hooking/unhooking various commercial Trucks/trailer units raise and lower the landing gear operate the 5th wheel release lever.
  • Climbing ladders of different design to access locations.
  • Manually handling material and equipment requiring a lifting/handling force up to 50-75 pounds.

3) Ability to work in an environment which includes:

  • Personnel may spend 20% to 40% of their time outdoors exposed to potentially difficult environmental conditions.
  • Personnel may spend 80% to 90% of their time kneeling or stooping over while inside a trailer.
  • Personnel may be subject to irregular work schedules temperature and weather extremes tight schedules and other stresses related to washing a large commercial motor vehicle.
  • While washing operators are exposed to noise and vibration levels that may be higher than those typically experienced in normal conditions.
  • Lift and pulling up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to handle exposure dust noise odors and temperature extremes.
  • Operate a power washer.
  • Stand / stoop and remain alert for an aggregate period of up to 11 hours with a 1 hour break.
  • Perform squatting kneeling bending and climbing during the wash process.
  • Properly enter and exit the vehicles 10 to 20 times per day. Trailer exit and entry is achieved with the assistance of various configurations of steps and handholds.
  • Use a shovel to move and/or clean a load of material.
  • Occasionally reach above shoulder level at waist level and below waist level for maneuvering and directing the controls.
  • Spend at least 10% of the day standing and 90% of the day working on surfaces such as concrete metal and on slippery and wet surfaces.

Compensation:

Targeted pay range of $22.00-$29.94 USD per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
