This role helps to foster self-reliance care for the poor and the needy and provide opportunities for giving and service by: helping members become economically and emotionally self-reliant; providing access to essential food and clothing items helping members prepare for and respond to disasters; and providing humanitarian aid to relieve suffering; thus furthering the mission of the Church. The Foreman is responsible for the operation of the storehouse. The incumbent supervises 3-8 volunteers to fulfill the functions of the storehouse as well as direct the training of bishops referrals which is an ongoing function in all work areas. The incumbent sets the spiritual tone of the storehouse and must be sensitive to people and their feelings and provide a safe place to work. The incumbent assists the poor and needy and provides a proper work experience for volunteers. The incumbent also assists bishops in providing work experience for volunteers and ensures that Bishops Orders are properly filled. The incumbent orders fresh commodities from local suppliers receives and maintains commodities administers the petty cash fund promotes safe practices and properly maintains the building and equipment.
55% Responsible for acquisition warehousing and distribution of commodities. The incumbent (1) orders adequate stocks of commodities from the Bishops Central Storehouse and local vendors (2) properly stores and rotates commodities in warehouse (3) prepares commodities for display and stock shelves (4) directs recipients and volunteers to fill Bishops orders (5) makes deliveries (6) maintains vehicles in a proper preventative maintenance program and (7) meets government regulations for sanitation and safety.
20% Maintains and submits timely and accurate records. The incumbent (1) submits timely and accurate monthly reports to the service center (2) prepares monthly mailings to bishops and (3) submits regular preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
10% Maintains facilities and equipment. The incumbent (1) maintains the exterior of building and surrounding grounds (2) maintains interior of building especially floors and (3) performs regular preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
10% Miscellaneous: The incumbent is involved in special studies or assignments from the Group Manager Storehouses
Education or experience in management.
Experience in warehousing administration or related fields.
Experience in leadership positions that would allow the incumbent to relate to the needs of Bishops and Relief Society leaders.
Able to operate a delivery truck and forklift.
Able to work independently.
Full-Time
