The Automotive Wiring Technician is responsible for the assembly and installation of the wiring and electrical components on the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

What youll do:
  • Cut extend and reroute vehicle wiring within the vehicle.
  • Add wiring to vehicles for hydraulic ramp systems and specialty adaptive equipment.
  • Build and install wiring harnesses and control modules for fuel tanks and automatic ramp systems.
  • Reconnect wiring for fuel and ABS systems after conversion is completed and test & inspect for proper operation.
  • Use hand and power tools including but not limited to ratchet wire strippers snips soldering iron impact air tools etc.
  • Maintain equipment inspect for performance and/or safety concerns and perform trouble-shooting as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with Freedom Motors quality and safety standards policies and procedures and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Ability to read wiring schematics and diagrams and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
  • Assist other areas as needed.
What youll need:
  • Coursework beyond High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous experience with automotive systems wiring or electrical diagnostics preferred. ASE electrical certification preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools including but not limited to ratchet wire strippers snips soldering iron impact air tools etc.
  • Ability to read wiring schematics and diagrams and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding attendance record and reliability.
