What You will Be Doing
The Enterprise Advanced Analytics andArtificial Intelligenceteam is the center ofAIexcellence within CIBC and is leading the way in applying the best practices in artificial intelligence machine learning and natural language processing leveraging the latest technology and platforms. We collaborate with the leading academic institutes in the space ofAIand machine learning to promote the exchange of ideas and enrich our talent. Our work covers every aspect of theresearch life cycle from partnering with Academia to building production systems. We work with product technology and business partners to apply the state of the art inAIto our business.
With your defined practical experience in the domain of Artificial Intelligence you will apply your knowledge and experience of advanced modelling to solve challenging business problems and building innovative solutions. Youll interact with groups across the organization from products segments marketing to channels risk and capital markets. Youll work withreal world structured and unstructured datasets to produce end-to-end solutions taking models from experiment to deployment.

How Youll Succeed
Artificial Intelligence Expertise -Provide AI solutions to solve business problem leveraging statistics machine learning natural language processing GenAI and optimization techniques. Ability to conduct self-directedresearch typically using non-traditionalresources to solve business problems.
Analytical Partner -You will work with business units to understand their needs opportunities and pain points. Translate data to insights and inform decision making. Focus onrelationship building and become the trusted analytical partner.
Intellectual Curiosity and Continuous Improvement -Maintain a strong desire to enhance our AI/ML techniques and approaches. Collaborate with data experts to understand data and engineer relevant features. Work effectively with fellow data scientists and engineers to develop data products. Mentor junior team members and offer technical thought leadership.
Who You Are
You have a degree in Artificial Intelligence Data Science Computer Science Software Engineering Statistics Mathematics or a related field.
You can demonstrate 3-4 years of experience in machine learning natural language processing (NLP) natural language understanding (NLU) and/or other AI techniques with TensorFlow PyTorch scikit-learn etc.
You have extensive hands-on experience with at least one AI toolkit such as Python or R. Proficient in writing SQL/ Spark scripts developing robust and efficient modular Python code in a non-notebook environment creating APIs and working with Git version control tools.
You have expertise in Python programming with proficiency in libraries such as TensorFlow PyTorch and scikit-learn.
You have a strong understanding of machine learning algorithms including supervised unsupervised and reinforcement learning as well as model selection training and evaluation. Experience with prompt engineering and integrating large language models (LLMs) into data applications using frameworks like LangChain LangGraph Semantic Kernel or AutoGen.Solid grasp of statistical concepts including probability distributions hypothesis testing and regression analysis to interpret data patterns and evaluate model performance. Proficiency with Git for version control team collaboration and ensuring code reproducibility.Ability to write clean maintainable and scalable code applying object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
Hands-on experience with generative models such as GANs VAEs and transformers and their practical applications. Experience with Azure and Databricks for deploying and scaling AI models would be an asset. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for large-scale deployment and management of AI applications is also desirable. Knowledge of AI lifecycle management concepts and related tools would be considered an additional advantage.
