About the Role:

VU Careers Hub is an established high-impact service and now were looking for a hands-on leader to drive its next phase of growth. As the service lead youll champion innovation strengthen internal partnerships and boost visibility across the university. Youll play a key role in shaping how students connect with career and job support while delivering real improvements that enhance student employment success.

This is a full-time fixed-term (2-year contract period) position at a HEP8 $110100 - $123987 per annum plus 17% superannuation working 36.75 hours per week. This position is located at our Footscray Park campus.

You duties may include:

  • Actively engaging with stakeholders across the university and industry to build partnerships increase visibility of the VU Careers Hub and position it as a key service supporting graduate success.
  • Tracking and influencing outcomes from student engagement to job placement rates - ensuring that all initiatives contribute to measurable impact.
  • Aligning career services with university-wide priorities such as industry engagement WIL and student success initiatives.
  • Leading innovation by anticipating emerging needs from students and employers and developing new approaches tools and resources to meet them.
  • Shaping a positive and driven team culture ensuring efforts are strategically aligned and outcome-focused.

About You:

  • Proven leadership in managing diverse teams a strong emphasis on coaching staff development and fostering a collaborative positive team culture.
  • Strong operational expertise in delivering support within career and/or employment settings with a focus on service quality accessibility and measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to lead strategic initiatives leveraging data and feedback to enhance service visibility student engagement and overall impact.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities to build strategic networks and strengthen stakeholder engagement to drive alignment across a complex organisation.
