Job Description
Structural Project Engineer is a full-time position in our West Sacramento office. The Structural PE oversees the technical aspects of engineering projects from inception to completion. The role involves conceptualizing & planning designing and executing the structural design through multiple project phases while coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate has 2 years of engineering experience and a degree in civil engineering (or 2 years of engineering experience in residential wood construction) a full understanding of engineering design principles and an eagerness to grow their career.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize design and coordinate lateral gravity & foundation systems with a focus on light-framed wood construction
- Provide value-engineering options for client review
- Participate in quality control reviews
- Coordinate deliverables to client and architect
- Address jurisdiction plan reviews and construction support requests
- Perform on-site observations when necessary
Personal Traits & Skills
- 2-6 years of wood-framed structural design experience (degrees and/or licensure optional but welcome!)
- Technology-savvy
- Ability to identify potential issues adapt and problem-solve
- Team-oriented collaborative and an effective communicator
- Critical thinker with an attention to detail and ability to make decisions
- Knowledge of building codes and jurisdictional regulations
- Familiar with MEP systems
