Job Description
As a Data Entry Specialist youll ensure data accuracy integrity and timely processing for legal and financial documentation. Your keen eye for detail and understanding of basic bookkeeping will support case development and financial accountability in a mission-driven legal practice.

Your Daily Tasks
Data Entry
- Input alphanumeric data from source documents into designated databases or electronic files
- Ensure accuracy and completeness by reviewing and verifying information for errors or discrepancies
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to maintain consistency and quality
Data Validation and Cleansing
- Validate and cleanse data to ensure accuracy consistency and integrity
- Identify and correct errors duplicates or inconsistencies
- Perform data quality checks and resolve discrepancies
Document Management
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files
- Update and edit records to reflect changes or corrections
- Follow document retention policies and confidentiality requirements
Quality Assurance
- Conduct quality checks on data entries to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Review and verify data against source documents or reference materials
- Document and report data quality issues or anomalies
Light Bookkeeping and Accounting Support
- Enter financial transactions such as invoices expense reports or payment records
- Reconcile data between accounting systems and source documents
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data logs
- Apply basic accounting concepts such as debits credits and account categorization
Timely Delivery
- Meet productivity and accuracy targets
- Prioritize and manage workload to complete assignments on time
- Communicate with supervisors or team leads regarding challenges or delays
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Propose and implement improvements such as automation or standardization
- Share best practices and optimize workflows with team members
Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues
- Collaborate with departments or stakeholders to meet data entry requirements
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving procedures and systems
Requirements
The Qualifications We Seek
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree (preferred)
- 1-2 years previous experience in data entry clerical or administrative support role (preferred)
- Proficiency in typing and data entry with a high level of accuracy and speed
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with data entry software and tools is a plus
