You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe ProMedica Finnegan Family Autism Center houses the Autism Early Learning Program (AELP) which offers early intensive behavioral intervention services for children diagnosed with Autism from the age of diagnosis through 6 years old. The program operates year-around with options for full day and partial day services with 1:1 ratios and options for small group as appropriate. Intervention utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and focuses on addressing skills in the areas of communication/language play socialization behavior and adaptive skills.
Position Summary:
TheSpeech Language Pathologistdevelops and administers speech-language treatment programs to assist patients with communication cognitive-linguistic and swallowing disorders in reaching their optimal level of function and collaboratively with patient family members and other team members to design treatment strategies to foster communications and function.
Accountabilities
1. Applies knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
2. Demonstrates competence awareness and sensitivity of the physical emotional and socio-psychological needs of the pediatric population.
3. Performs appropriate communication cognitive-linguistic and swallowing evaluations within the established time frame including appropriate selection administration and interpretation of standardized and non-standardize assessments using age specific criteria for each age population served as measured by clinical competencies
4. Develops and implements treatment plan according to a valid prescription and in accordance with policies and procedures.
5. Collaborates with patient/family to establish and provide appropriate treatment plan and goals. Adapts treatment plan as needed to meet the needs of the patient taking into account age and educational level as measured by competencies.
6. Prepares and maintains accurate patient care records according to department protocols and demonstrate basic competency for completing accurate billing and electronic documentation.
7. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to advocate communicate and educate patients of all age groups served including those with physical emotional language and cognitive impairments taking into account age and educational level as measured by competencies.
8. Consistently conducts self in a professional in continuing education activities and shares information with staff. Understands and abides by ProMedicas mission and values in all interactions with patients visitors and co-workers.
9. Provides oversight and mentoring for students and participants in program development performance improvement projects and other committees as assigned.
10. Manages and maintains productivity as established by department.
11. May participate in program development identifyingperformance improvement opportunities and implementing performance improvement plans
12. Performs other duties as directed.
