Hey there data whiz! Are you passionate about using numbers to make a real difference in your community Multnomah Countys Central Budget Office is looking to hire two Budget Analyst Seniors to join our team. Were all about budgeting for outcomes which means we dont just crunch numbers; we use them to build a better future for Multnomah County.

In this role youll be more than just a numbers person. Youll be a key player in connecting our financial resources directly to the services that truly impact peoples lives. If you love diving into data uncovering insights and seeing your work contribute to something big youre exactly who were looking for.

In this role youll:

  • Team Up: Work hand-in-hand with county departments leaders and community groups. Youll be their go-to expert for all things budget-related.

  • Be a Data Champion: Help us use data and performance metrics to guide our budget decisions. Its all about making sure our spending leads to the best possible results.

  • Dig Deep: Do some serious financial analysis forecasting and modeling. Your work will help us figure out where our money should go to make the biggest impact.

  • Tell the Story: Take raw data and turn it into clear easy-to-understand stories and visuals. We want to show everyone the impact were making.

  • Keep Improving: Always be on the lookout for ways to make our budget processes tools and reports even better.

Got skills in business intelligence or data visualization tools like Tableau Thats a huge plus. If you do youll fit right in and help us make our financial and budget data shine.

Our Team

The Budget Office plans coordinates and prepares the annual County budget financial forecasts and budget projections ad hoc analyses for County decision-makers and cost control analyses. Budget staff serve on countywide task forces related to budget finance and other fiscal matters; identify and resolve financial problems; and partner with County Labor Relations in collective bargaining research analysis and in preparing labor cost projections.

This recruitment may be used to fill full-time part-time temporary limited duration and on-call positions.

Type of Position: This is a salaried non-represented position that is not eligible for overtime.

Hybrid Telework: This position is designated as hybrid telework meaning you will be working both remotely (from home) and in person at an onsite location. The designation of Hybrid Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the County cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. The onsite work location for this position is Multnomah Building: 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Portland OR 97214.

Schedule: Monday - Friday; There may be some flexibility with start and end times. In office will typically be two to three days per week. More days in office will be during peak times during the budget process or when assignments require in person meetings work sessions labor meetings and Budget Work sessions. During Budget Work Sessions employees will be expected to be in-office on days when the Board is meeting.

However actual compensation will be determined in accordance with the Oregon Equal Pay Law and will take into account factors such as the candidates relevant experience education seniority training and/or tenure. Serving the Public Even During Disasters

Everyday Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather natural disaster or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
