Job Description
POSITION: HEAD START PROGRAM PRESCHOOL TEACHER ASSISTANT
LOCATIONS:
- Gerry Sweet Center 351 NW 5th Street Miami Fl. 33128
When: Daytime Monday thru Friday 40 hours per week hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm
New Rate of Pay: $17.91 per hour
*FCCPC BirthFive or CDA Preschool certification required or an Associate in Early Childhood
Responsible for assisting Head Start classroom teachers in the care and development of children enrolled in an early childhood education center as well as maintenance of the classroom. Hours vary based on an as-needed basis.
Assists in planning and teaching activities within the YWCAs developmentally appropriate framework to encourage the advancement of childrens cognitive social/emotional physical and creative skills.
Qualifications :
Requirements (describe the educational and skill requirements):
High diploma or GED and CDA/FCCPC certification required. One or two years of experience working with preschool children in a child care facility preferred preferably in a Head Start program. Bachelors or Associates in Early Childhood Education a definite plus. DCF Child Care 45-50 hour training certificate in addition to VPK courses and 24 hours of continuing education each year thereafter; however the YWCA reserves the right to increase hours of training annually. Red Cross First Aid certificate; certificate of good health and completed TB test. Required to have fingerprint and background check.
FCCPC Birth Five or CDA certification in Pre-school required
