Interfaith Chaplain

Fisher College a private four-year institution located in the Back Bay district of Boston invites applications for the position of Interfaith Chaplain a vital role within the Division of Student Affairs. The Chaplain will provide spiritual and pastoral care to a diverse student population and serve as a resource for faculty and staff. This position fosters multifaith understanding collaboration and a spiritually inclusive campus environment.

This is a part-time in-person position scheduled from September 1 2025 to May 12 2026 with an estimated commitment of 9 to 12 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Spiritual Leadership and Support

  • Be a visible and active presence at student orientation college-wide events and major campus gatherings
  • Maintain on-campus office hours and engage in spiritual and programmatic activities
  • Provide responsive support by6 phone (7:00 AM - 11:00 PM) to address student crisis or other concerns
  • Offer pastoral services including officiating weddings and providing invocations at graduation and other college events.
  • Be available to respond to campus crisis as needed
  • Provide individual spiritual guidance pastoral care and emotional support to students
  • Facilitate small group mentorship prayer/reflection sessions and the use of sacred or inspirational texts

Educational and Community Engagement

  • Promote inclusive dialogue and critical reflection on topics such as religious diversity social justice ethics and global citizenship
  • Support and encourage student participation in community outreach and interfaith programming
  • Partner with campus departments to coordinate events such as Rise Against Hunger and other themed initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Divinity Theology Pastoral Counseling or a related field
  • 2-5 years experience in chaplaincy pastoral care or a related role
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice religious inclusivity and multifaith engagement
  • Excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with discretion
  • Must be able to serve as a confidential Title IX resource for students affected by gender-based misconduct
  • Board Certified Chaplain (BCC)
