The Role
The Specialist Community Giving Liaison manages Gift In Kind operations for the assigned Head Start program and will be responsible for maintaining the overall cohesive day-to-day needs of the programs material donations including tracking scheduling and receiving deliveries of in kind donations ensuring that any necessary supplies are requested and providing event support. You will engage with program staff and leadership regularly to understand current and/or changing needs in order to inform community outreach and guide distribution planning and will be responsible for asset management including inventories as well as overseeing the safety and operations of the warehouse or storage areas.
As a front-line representative of Save the Children you will be required to ensure the safety and security of Head Start children and families with whom he/she has contact and adhere to the agencys values of Accountability Ambition Collaboration Creativity and Integrity.
What Youll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Asset Management / GIK / Logistics (60%)
Oversee and execute operations for the storage and distribution of Gift-in-Kind (GIK) items for the Head Start program and immediate service area including inventory management.
Support in the planning and/or participation in community partner distribution events and coordinate partner pick-up schedules.
Serve as a point of contact on the ground for coordinating logistics and timing with major donors and National GIK team members.
Receive Gift-in-Kind (GIK) shipments and assess quality and confirmation of goods received in compliance with established internal controls.
Promptly track and record GIK inventory once received.
Complete all necessary donor paperwork utilizing various tools such as SharePoint Excel and Microsoft Teams.
Coordinate with Head Start Center leads to transport goods across all Head Start locations and meet distribution timeline targets. This may involve the use of fleet vehicles to travel between program sites.
Maintain and report accurate monthly and annual inventory of GIK items.
Provide logistical and delivery guidance and support for donations to partners.
Program Support / Community Engagement and Outreach (30%)
Collaborates with Head Start program staff to identify community partners acts as point of contact for community giving initiatives and works with community partners to understand their needs assessments.
Communicates with Head Start program leadership and National GIK staff on needs lists inventory levels personnel needs for shipments and distributions and process efficiencies.
Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the National GIK team and present updates for the program.
Attend regularly scheduled Head Start program business meetings.
Provide support for completing agreement documentation with partners as necessary.
Support the Program Director in all GIK operational areas while both meeting the requirements of SCUS internal systems and protocols and focusing on operational excellence.
Safety & Security (10%)
Liaise with the Facilities Manager to implement local operational processes for GIK facilities based on established best practices for the Head Start program.
Ensure that all warehouse activities are conducted in a safe manner compliant will all required safety and material handling policies and protocols.
Be familiar with the incident reporting help desk and reporting mechanisms.
Provide operational support as needed to ensure the maintenance and safety of GIK storage facilities.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience creating reports and worksheets in Excel is a must
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word Outlook PowerPoint etc.
Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in professional written and verbal communications.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with little oversight.
Ability to function in a high-paced environment.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Demonstrated ability to oversee the activities of others in a defined area without having supervisory authority.
Must have a valid drivers license and adequate driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in managing inventory or warehousing.
Knowledge of early childhood education programs or child development services/agencies.
General awareness of the geographical area.
Additional Qualifications
Physical Requirements related to essential functions: Ability to perform medium to heavy physical work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 5-10 pounds constantly performing such activities as sitting crawling stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting and grasping. This also includes some duties that require repetitive action and motion skills keyboarding and computer use.
Clear pre-employment background check requirements including local state and national criminal records check sex offender registries employment and education verifications (including child abuse registry check if required by state regulations) and pass all state and local health requirements required post job offer and prior to employment.
This position may require the incumbent to operate a motor vehicle to fulfill certain essential functions of the job. The incumbent should maintain a valid drivers license and remain in compliance with any Save the Children policies pertaining to the safe operation of motor vehicles.
Current and former Head Start/Early Head Start parents will receive preference for employment vacancies for which they are qualified.
Compensation
The base pay for this position is starting at $41134. Actual base salary may vary based upon but not limited to experience credentials base salary of internal peers and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
