Job Description
Job Title: Welder / Fabricator
Division: Firelands Metals
Reports to: Fabrication Shop Manager
FLSA: Hourly
Position Summary:
As a Welder / Fabricator in our miscellaneous metals area you will provide assistance in the day to day operations of metal working. This position is to fabricate and assist with shipping and receiving or any other task that is assigned from the direct supervisor.
Essential Functions:
Fabricate metal components according to blueprints and specifications
Assist with machine operation/loading and unloading
Assemble and build metal structures using various techniques.
Conduct machining tasks to achieve precise dimensions and finishes.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to safety protocols.
Operate miscellaneous metals with brakes presses and various metalworking equipment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met.
Material handling

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
1-2 years experiencein metalworking
Familiar with various Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Metals. steel aluminum stainless steel
Knowledge of various metal working such as
stick/mig/tig welding
plasma and saw cutting;
drilling bending/forming punching
grinding/polishing
Proficient in using power tools and machinery related to metal fabrication.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Work Environment
The Welder / Fabricator will work in a metal fabrication shop environment. The work involves exposure to typical occupational hazards associated with welding cutting grinding and metalworking processes. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses hard hat/bump cap face shields gloves steel-toe boots hearing protection and welding helmets is required at all times.
The working hours are typically 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Occasional off-shift hours may be necessary to achieve the goals of some projects. Weekend and Holiday work is infrequent but occasionally needed to meet the projects requirements.
