Description

Job Title: Workshop Fabricator
Location: Keighley West Yorkshire

Purpose of the Role

As a Workshop Fabricator youll be responsible for the manufacture of various steel assemblies including mild and stainless-steel pipework and structural steelwork. Working from detailed fabrication drawings you will play a key role in delivering quality components for secondary steelwork across a range of water infrastructure projects.

Key Accountabilities

You will:

Fabricate and weld mild and stainless steel pipework and steelwork from drawings

Produce small to large assemblies using bespoke weld procedures

Conduct self-inspections and work in line with inspection/test forms

Operate MIG welding equipment saws drills and other hand tools

Undertake PUWER checks on plant and equipment

Maintain quality safety and accuracy standards in fabrication processes

Report any design or manufacturing issues to the Operations Manager

Manage time effectively and multitask across different fabrication jobs

About You

You will have:

Extensive experience of fabricating mild steel structural steelwork

Proficiency in MIG welding and reading engineering drawings

Experience with stainless steel fabrication (advantageous but not essential)

Familiarity with using fabrication workshop tools and equipment

Experience of lifting and handling heavy loads

A strong understanding of workshop health and safety

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Good time management and a proactive approach to tasks

Preferred qualifications:

City & Guilds Parts 1 2 & 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Welding

Abrasive Wheels training

Forklift or Telehandler licence
