Controller
Job Summary:
eTEC Mechanical and eTEC Fire Protection are searching for a full-time on-site Financial Controller to join our team. The Controller will help manage accounting and financial reporting by maintaining the integrity of the accounting and data processing systems and by ensuring that appropriate procedures and controls are in place to maintain compliance with GAAP SEC company and corporate reporting requirements. This role ensures the accuracy of financial records and timely reporting to support eTEC operations and EMCORs regulatory requirements. The Controller will collaborate with the CFO to provide data-driven financial insights.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close out procedures and prepare and coordinate the production of timely accurate and auditable financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Oversee all general ledger activities including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and job costing.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Lead and mentor accounts payable and account receivable teams to ensure accuracy timely processing and effective cash flow management.
- Help prepare annual Tax Package.
- Collaborate with internal auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and compliance with all regulatory requirements addressing audit findings effectively.
- Develop implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard the companys financial resources and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide financial reporting and strategic insights to senior leadership that help with business decision-making.
- Maintain fixed asset listings and conduct an annual physical inventory.
- Prepare monthly and annual Virginia reporting sales tax reports personal property tax filings and business license.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
- Public accounting experience preferred (audit sector).
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and experience in preparing auditable financial statements.
- Construction industry experience is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
