The Allina Health Neuroscience Spine and Pain Institute (AHNSPI) takes a population health-based approach to patient care. From disease prevention to quaternary care to post-acute and home care we meet patients wherever they are in their care journey. And touch points with other programs including the Allina Health Cancer Institute the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute and others allow us to expand access to Whole-Person Care in the communities we serve.
Key Position Details:
Allina Healths Neuroscience Spine and Pain Institute is expanding its services to include a general outpatient Neurology clinic. The physicians in this role will work collaboratively with a variety of specialists to deliver the highest level of care to the patients in our communities.
- Four possible primary clinic locations to choose from including Minneapolis Plymouth Lakeville and St. Paul. The Plymouth Lakeville and St. Paul locations will have the opportunity to spend one day per week at our flagship location of Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
- All physicians will be required to provide one day per month of outreach to a non-metro location.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday clinic hours (approx. 8am - 5pm)
- A 1.0 FTE includes 4.5 days of clinic and one half-day of administrative time per week
- Dedicated RNs CMAs and scheduling support for the Neurology clinic
- Access to subspecialists including Neuro Oncology Movement Disorders Epilepsy and Migraine/Headache. Recruitment efforts are underway for the sub-specialties of Neuromuscular Dementia and MS/Neuroimmunology.
- H-1B visa support at all locations; J1 visa waiver support at Minneapolis and St. Paul locations
Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care.
- Diagnoses treats and consults patients who have a disease or impaired function of the brain spinal cord peripheral nerves muscles and autonomic nervous system as well as the blood vessels that relate to these structures.
- Examines patients mental and physical status conduct medical tests and scans and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
- Performs and interpret basic neurophysiology tests.
- Reviews patients medical history while collecting prioritizing and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patients health or situation.
- Evaluates interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Provides education consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
- Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
- Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
- Participates in neuroscience research activities.
- Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
- May provide care in an ambulatory clinic inpatient or outpatient hospital setting.
- May participate in on-call rotation.
- Quality.
- Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care patient outcomes or work flows.
- May participate in peer review and quality assurance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine required and
- Completion of an accredited Residency training program in Neurology or foreign equivalent training required
- Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire and
- BLS Tier 1 - Multisource required within 180 Days and
- Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required and
- Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire required and
- National Provider Identifier upon hire required
Physical Demands

Pay Range
Pay Range: $320000 to $361000 per year
The pay described reflects the starting base pay range assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to your experience education and the union agreement (if applicable).
