Job Description

Schedule: Friday - Sunday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

As a Refrigeration Technician youll be responsible for the operation maintenance and repair of ammonia and nitrogen refrigeration systems that power our industrial food freezing and storage operations. Youll help ensure consistent product quality and facility cooling by keeping our systems running at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate monitor and maintain ammonia and nitrogen refrigeration systems including freezers condensers chillers and A/C systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical/electrical repairs on refrigeration equipment
  • Troubleshoot issues using gauges manuals blueprints and diagnostic tools
  • Log operating data monitor trends and respond to system alerts
  • Order parts manage inventory and keep work areas clean and organized (GMP compliant)
  • Use skills in pipe fitting pneumatics hydraulics and electrical systems to support maintenance operations
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times
  • Collaborate with team members and assist with training when needed

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years hands-on experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems (e.g. screw compressors vacuum systems blast freezers)
  • Knowledge of nitrogen flash freezers Reco/Frigoscandia freezers preferred
  • Familiarity with microprocessors 110480V 3-phase AC and control systems
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
  • Experience in pipe fitting conduit wiring hydraulics and pneumatics
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical training or certification in ammonia/nitrogen systems is a plus
  • Strong commitment to safety attendance and team collaboration
