JOB GOAL:To develop in each pupil an awareness and understanding coupled with the basic skills and knowledge applicable to cosmetology in business or public sector; and to instill in each pupil safe working habits the importance of continuation of his/her education and the assets of reliability competence loyalty and RESPONSIBILITIES:Teaches cosmetology skills and knowledge full-time to students in grades pupils in citizenship basic communication skills and other general elements of the competency-based course of study common to all teachers as specified in state law administrative regulations and procedures of the school lesson plans maintains plan book and organizes class time so that preparation instruction shop work and clean-up activities can be accomplished within the allotted occupational materials equipment tools and processes using standard or teacher-prepared models mock-ups sketches and other instructional aids in accordance with the cosmetology competency-based task pupils in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools machinery and and monitors student progress through the use of progress reports report cards and student competency lists. Communicates with employers parents and school counselors on individual pupil special education individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings where the teachers presence is supervision and extra help to students where meetings as required by the teacher other duties assigned by the Superintendent-Director. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position may require long periods of standing on concrete floors bending over customers or working in confined spaces with exposure to dust chemicals and OF EMPLOYMENT:Ten-month school year position (183 days).Initial salary will be established by the Superintendent-Director in accordance with the Teachers benefits as outlined in the Teachers :As per the Teachers Contract.
