Job Title: Solution Engineer - Analytics Co-Op
Position Description:
The Enterprise Data Solution Delivery team provides strategic direction technical/functional expertise and product management for First Qualitys Reporting and Analytics systems. The Solution Engineer - Analytics as a key member of the Enterprise Data Solution Delivery team contributes to the definition design delivery and support of First Qualitys Analytics systems. This role will interact with all areas of First Quality to define business requirements scope solutions develop specifications and support delivery of analytics solutions. This position is the go-to contact for their assigned Analytics system specialization and as such serves as the ultimate support escalation point for their assigned system(s). The person in this position owns their assigned system(s) and interacts with all divisions within First Quality. The Solution Engineer - Analytics Co-Op position is accountable for the training education and execution of Analytics systems with the goal to fully utilize their capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participate in the development and design of analytics platforms (i.e. Data Warehouse ETL and Reporting).
Build high performance SQL queries to retrieve transform and analyze data using standard ETL processes.
Build test and implement reports and dashboards using different analytics tools.
Partner with the business groups to evaluate and perform application development and/or business process change requests under minimal direction.
Monitor Data Warehouse & Analytics Application processes to ensure customer expectations are met.
Ensure optimal application performance and maintainability of assigned systems thus enabling scalability and continuous updates from software vendors.
Coordinate with functional leads to understand business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related discipline.
Fundamental understanding of database concepts
1 year Information Technology experience with focus on SQL preferred
1 year experience in any visualization tool (QlikView Tableau and Power BI etc.) preferred
Good understanding of data warehousing concepts like ETL best practices dimensional modeling and sematic/reporting layer design.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terms and effectively interact with decision makers.
