The Specialist I Network Security is responsible for delivering quality customer service. This position must support and communicate best security business practices with other IS resources dedicated to systems access support and security and be responsible for establishing implementing and enforcing security policies standards and guidelines related to all information systems. The Specialist I Network Security will be responsible for providing timely resolutions to incidents related to the security of all information systems. The position will provide secondary support for the Information Service Department. This position will be expected to interact with other senior business leaders.


The Specialist I Network Security is challenged with ensuring that state-of-the art security techniques are employed to maintain the highest level of security for all platforms and applications maintained by the company while at the same time not compromising system efficiency. The position must ensure a superior level of customer service is offered to all users. In addition must resolve any security incident in a professional and timely manner.


Responsible for developing and managing network security systems. Assesses the potential risk and opportunities of vulnerability in networks. Implements network security policies procedures and systems. Ensures network security access and protects against unauthorized access modification or destruction. Keeps up to date on current and emerging trends in the area of network security systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the timely resolution of problems assigned to the Information Security Department.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Information Services Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide support to other team members when assigned tasks.
  • Monitor access control logs and security violation logs.
  • Keep abreast of state of the art security techniques to advise systems designers and users on security techniques that best implement stated policy and standards. Assist in conducting investigations into any alleged computer or network security compromises incidents or problems under the direction of senior resources and or management.
  • Provide support in updating standardizing and implementing system and application configurations to ensure the confidentiality integrity and availability of Company systems.
  • Develop reports upon request utilizing various report-writing tools in all applications.
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change or where new ones need to be developed especially regarding future business expansion.
  • Monitor and report on any security violation related to unwarranted access to company data.
  • Ensure that all applications and system related problems are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Willingness to travel a must.
  • Maintain awareness of the rapidly changing Concentra environment and recommend cost efficient techniques when supporting corporate and field systems.
  • Support the mission and direction of Concentra Information Services both within the department and throughout the corporation.
  • Help build team spirit by assisting other staff members and promoting a positive workplace.
  • Complete any activities tasks and/or projects as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education Level: Bachelors Degree ; Major: Business Systems Computer Science Security Risk Analysis Cybersecurity Information Sciences and Technology
  • Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable
  • 2 years experience
  • Experience with security administration and network monitoring tools
  • PC Hardware and peripheral experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft productivity applications
  • Knowledge of browser-based technology
  • Understanding of operating systems such as Windows and OS X/iOS
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA Data Privacy SOX and PCI Security Regulations a plus
  • Understanding of applicable control frameworks including NIST RMF/CSF and Mitre Att&ck a plus
  • Excellent report writing skills a plus
  • Large-scale multi-site IS operations experience a plus
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • Experience with managing personal and enterprise firewalls a plus
  • Experience with Change Management processes a plus
  • Experience with common technologies such as SIEM (ex. Splunk Elastic Sumo Logic) EDR (CrowdStrike Cortex XDR SentinelOne) DLP (ex. Digital Guardian Forcepoint MS Purview) and Email Security (ex. Proofpoint Cofense Rapid7) Cloud (Ex. AWS Azure GCP OCI). These are examples and experience in all listed solutions are not required.
