NESsT operates two businesses: 1- Impact funds that provide debt financing to small and growing businesses; and 2- Accelerators that catalyze early-stage enterprises towards investment readiness.

Position Overview:

NESsT is seeking an enthusiastic student with an ambition to go far. This paid internship will allow you to gain in-depth knowledge of working for a nonprofit organization in multiple departments. This role aims toassist different department leaders on project-specific tasks related to development and impact management among others.

The NESsTER ensures efficient coordination of tasks related to the CEOs commitments correspondence calendar and record keeping.

NESsT is partnering with UC Berkeley for this internship so the candidate must be a Berkeley undergraduate.

The right candidate will be guaranteed hands-on experience working with a global team in a dynamic and growing international organization as well as an immersion in the field of social to the CEO the Intern will also work closely with team members from Latin America and Central Europe to support data management and operations.

This fully remote role offers between 20-30 hours per week during the summer and 20 hours per week during the Fall Academic year.



Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure functionality of integrations acrossNESsTstech stack for improved consistency clarity and digestibility. For exampleNESsTuses Salesforce OneDriveSharepointandFluxxon aweekly basis.
  • Ensure all CRM data is up-to-datethrough consistent communication withNESsTCEO and the Development and Acceleration Teams.
  • Ensure fundraising pipeline opportunities are kept up to date. Data visualization skills are a plus.
  • Managedonor/investor reportingcalendarand work withprogramstaff to submit high-quality impact reports on-time.
  • Participate inproject management offundraising proposals and presentations to potential donors( all documentation ensuring metrics are accurate and that all information is uploaded on time into online platforms such asCybergrants).
  • Research and maintain database of media contacts relevant to the dissemination of impact reports of NESsT donors and investors.
  • Prepare donor acknowledgement letters and tax-deduction certificates.
  • Identify prospective funders and partners forNESsTthroughonlineand offlineresearch. This may also include conducting preliminary outreach to funders and though-leaders to increase funding and awareness ofNESsT.
  • Oversee documentation of processes in fundraisingand donor relations and contribute operational improvement ideas.
  • Provide administrative assistance to CEO senior directors and Governance boards and committees
  • Provide support for special projects as needed by senior staff
  • Monitor and maintain correspondence with internal and external partners
  • Assist Development staff in donor relations as needed
  • Support Operations staff in global team management special initiatives and administration

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly

Requirements:

  • You are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at UC Berkeley.
  • You can manage multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
  • You have an interest in social impact.
  • You are curious. If the information is not readily available you seek it out.
  • You maintain high integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • You can stay motivated while working with a distributed team and love problem-solving; passion for entrepreneurship is a plus!
  • You have excellent verbal written and research skills in English and know how to be an effective communicator among diverse audiences. Fluency in Spanish Portuguese Romanianand/or Polish is a plus.
  • You must be eligible to work in the U.S.
