The company services municipal contracts with some of the largest and fastest growing cities in the U.S. including New York City Austin San Antonio and Phoenix.

About the Role:

This position reports directly to the Dallas Area General Manager and involves regular communication with Customer Service Operations and Sales Staff. The Transportation Manager oversees and coordinates all transportation activities ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods while managing related budgets and compliance with regulations. This role involves planning directing and coordinating transportation policies and programs as well as supervising transportation staff.

The Circular Services Dallas Area Recycling Transportation Manager is a:

Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. These include the following:

  • Manage transportation department personnel including managing timesheets PTO coordination performance evaluations recruiting onboarding and terminations.
  • Work with Drivers to ensure that all vehicles are always maintained at a safe and clean level.
  • Ensure drivers are completing daily duties such as pre and post trip inspections Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports completing routes and sharing notations and changes with Manager and/or customer service. Ensuring adherence to all relevant transportation laws regulations and safety standards
  • Responsible for training new drivers.
  • Act as liaison between transportation customer service and operations departments.
  • Communicate any safety routing and other issues to all drivers and departments including during weekly driver meetings.
  • Fill in for drivers as necessary.
  • Responsible for completing vehicle registration and inspections on time.
  • Ensure that all drivers DOT cards licenses and files are up to date.
  • Complete driver meetings weekly or as often as needed
  • Perform mock driver audits checking for safety and regulatory compliance including NAID.
  • Participate in semi- annual asset management process.
  • Use of telematic software tools to optimize routes and driving habits.
  • Active use of Smith System driver training tool.
  • Managing transportation costs analyzing expenses and optimizing efficiency
  • Maintaining accurate records of transportation activities including vehicle maintenance fuel consumption and delivery times

Job Qualifications:

  • A valid Class A or B Commercial Drivers License
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen physical and 3-year background check which will include previous employment check criminal history and motor vehicle review
  • Must be able to verify and maintain accurate daily records
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Be able to lift to 65 lbs. and push/pull 200 lb. recycling containers
