Job Description

- Ensure the safety of all students and instructors during swim classes.
- Check and document water temperature and chemical levels before the first class.
- Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled lesson fully dressed in BSS uniform.
- Greet and orient new families with a positive and welcoming attitude.
- Manage student check-in update the lesson board and ensure each child is placed with the correct instructor.
- Support swim instructors from the pool deck when needed.
- Celebrate student birthdays and swim level graduations including taking milestone photos.
- Set up and break down poolside marketing displays and merchandise.
- Maintain accurate class schedules rosters and attendance records.
- Keep the pool deck clean organized and compliant with all safety standards.
- Respond to parent questions concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
- Current Lifeguard Certification (or ability to obtain before start date)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Friendly reliable and team-oriented personality
- Consistent availability on evenings (3:30-8pm) and Saturdays (8:30am-1pm)
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
- Previous experience in a swim school customer service or childcare setting is a plus

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. Its helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job but its not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team even if youre not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the Survival of the Littlest.
