Job Description/Responsibilities

TheStrategic Account Manager Sams Club role services & supports the assigned National Key Account primarily focusing on growth with private label brands identified for Sams Club. This role also supports execution state pricing management new product development & forecasting; is responsible for identifying opportunities & developing fact based selling stories to secure distribution and incremental programming. This role also works with brand teams new brand development operations global sales quality assurance customer service & commercial finance when dealing with the Private Label portfolio.

Location: This is a remote role to be based in Northwest Arkansas (Bentonville Rogers Fayetteville Springdale Bella Vista)

Key Responsibilities (Job responsibilities may vary by state depending on regulatory and compliance standards for the state):

  • Grow overall Sazerac volume & share growth on Private Label Brands
  • Build Private Label Brands and launch innovation across the portfolio
  • Work with operations and supply chain to launch new Private Label items and work with distributors to ensure proper item setup and ordering of new items and ongoing inventory management to maintain instocks
  • Monitor inventory levels both at the state level with distributors and at store level in DSD states and analyze replenishment settings in warehouse/control states to maintain instocks
  • Manage pricing and item maintenance through Sams Club portal
  • Fully accountable for setting up and managing the Private Label pricing structures for Sams Club
  • Strengthen existing and develop new relationships with key Sams Club personnel across the merchandising teams and replenishment teams. Focus on driving the current business and incorporate longer-term strategic planning for Private Label portfolio.
  • Develop tools and processes that lead to insights and actions. Likely sources will include Nielsen iDig/VIP COGNOS and Excel.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Marketing Supply Chain or related field
  • 3 years of experience in strategic account management business development or sales management in the alcoholic beverage or CPG industry
  • Proven success managing club channel retail accounts or equivalent national retailer with Sams Club or Walmart highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving sales operations marketing legal and finance
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret syndicated data (e.g. Nielsen IRI Retail Link) and translate into actionable strategies
  • Exceptional relationship management and negotiation skills with both internal stakeholders and external buyers
  • Highly organized with a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as required for key meetings and trade events
  • A valid drivers license

Preferred

  • MBA
  • Direct key account experience working with Sams Club or Walmart
  • Familiarity with Retail Link Salsify and Salesforce
  • Understanding of private label programs including managing the end-to-end RFP process vendor submissions and go-to-market execution
  • Experience in sourcing product development and pricing strategy in collaboration with supply chain and procurement teams
