Job Description

Title: Remote Student Advisor ILSC & Greystone College
Start date: Immediate (Fixed term - 6 month contract)


ILSC & Greystone College Australiapart of the ILSC Education Group is a private language and career college with campuses in Perth Adelaide Melbourne Sydney and Brisbane as well as in Canada and India.


As a Remote Student Advisor you will play a vital role in ensuring the success well-being and overall experience of our students who are studying at ILSC & Greystone College Australia. You will be a point of contact for across our five campuses offering guidance support and a friendly presence to help them navigate their academic journey effectively. You will act as a visible and accessible point of contact through the remote advisor desk remaining on camera during working hours to support students effectively.


The Remote StudentAdvisor role is responsible fora variety of functions such as:


Student Advising by video calls live chats and emails:

  • Provide students (all nationalities) with general academic information.
  • Offer assistance and support to students addressing personal and social concerns that may affect their academic performance well-being and overall adjustment to college life in Australia.
  • Help students from all nationalities to adapt to Australian culture customs and daily life by providing information resources and tips on cultural integration and local amenities
  • Encourage all nationalities students participation in campus activities clubs and events fostering a sense of community and belonging within the college.
  • Work closely with the student services team to ensure that students receive coordinated and comprehensive support.
  • Support student accommodation requests (i.e. Homestay and student residence)
  • Provide a special duty of care for under-age students with regular check-ins
  • Processing changes on students enrolments ( change of timetable change of course change of start date and holidays to students enrolment
  • Prepare for new student intake (ELICOS & VET)
  • Facilitate academic and financial intervention and problem-solving



Other:

  • Supporting agents responding to questions about current student status and providing course information
  • Remaining connected on camera and online during working hours as a virtual advisor and acting as a point of contact for walk-in students in the office
  • Supporting students via LIVE chat
  • Facilitating and processing study extension (if required)
  • Creating and revising invoices and payment plans
  • Issuing COEs and working with the schools database system
  • Answering the phone transferring calls and taking messages
  • Helping students with questions and problems and/or leading them to the correct department
  • Updating PRISMS site with relevant student information
  • Assisting the Team Lead Student Services Director & academic director with assigned tasks
  • Attending general staff and team meetings and training sessions as assigned

Selection Criteria:

  1. Ability to work remotely
  2. Reliable means to perform remote student support (i.e: excellent internet connection professional dress code)
  3. Desirable living overseas Experience
  4. Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  5. Attention to detail and to computer notifications
  6. Outstanding organisational skills
  7. Demonstrated customer service skills
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  9. Excellent technical skills (database Microsoft 365 PRISMS etc)
  10. Apassion for education and sensitivity to the cultural and language issues facing our overseas students
  11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team taking proactive action on urgent matters with routine supervision.
  12. Proactive in taking the lead on tasks and collaborate with the workload of the team.
  13. Proficiency in English (written and speaking)


Work Hours:

  • Part-time (30 hours per week) Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am-8am AEST.
  • This position is remote.
  • This position has an immediate opening.
