  • Competitive Salary: Level 4 $85560.80 per year / $49.95 per hour 12% superannuation
  • Full Time or Casual Leave Cover Positions Available
  • Matched Super contributions up to 5%

Are you passionate about protecting your community and natural environment Were looking for two dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team as Ranger/Fire Control Officers. Help us uphold community safety environmental conservation and fire prevention across our beautiful region.

About the Roles

We have two exciting opportunities available:

  • Full-Time - Parental Leave Cover (until February 2026)
    $85560.80 per year (pro rata)
    Provide essential services while covering for a valued team member on parental leave. This fixed-term contract offers full-time hours and the chance to make a significant impact in the community.
  • Casual - Flexible Opportunity
    $49.95 per hour
    Ideal for someone seeking flexible hours or looking to build experience in local government and emergency services. Work as needed supporting peak times and leave coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce local laws and regulations related to land use fire control and environmental protection.
  • Educate the community on responsible land and fire management practices.
  • Conduct firebreak inspections issue permits and assist with fire prevention planning.
  • Respond to incidents and work closely with emergency services and local stakeholders.
  • Support the coordination of controlled burns and emergency fire responses as needed.

About You

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for community engagement.
  • Sound knowledge of fire prevention emergency response and relevant local government regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Completion of Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 & 2 (formerly known as Municipal Law A & B) or equivalent qualifications highly desirable.
  • Current drivers licence (essential).
  • Flexibility and availability to work weekends on a rotating roster as operational needs require.
