Job Description

Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Athena Medtech
Department: Interventional Radiology
Schedule:

  • Shift: 6:30 AM 7:00 PM Monday to Friday

  • Days/Week: 3 Days (12-hour shifts)

  • Hours/Week: 36 Hours

  • On-Call Requirement:

    • One night per week (12 hours)

    • One weekend per month (48 hours)

Position Summary

Athena Medtech is seeking a skilled and experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by producing high-quality imaging in a safe and patient-focused environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology

  • Certifications: Relevant state licensure and ARRT certification (or equivalent)

  • Preferred Experience: Travel/contract experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist is a plus

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms ensuring cleanliness readiness and appropriate equipment setup

  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals as needed to obtain diagnostic-quality images

  • Position patients and imaging equipment accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety

  • Explain procedures clearly and compassionately to patients

  • Operate imaging systems and enter technical commands to configure scan sequences

  • Monitor patients and video display to adjust imaging parameters such as density or contrast

  • Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety standards and patient care protocols

  • Collaborate with physicians to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic information

  • Document procedures and maintain patient records in accordance with facility and regulatory standards

  • Assist in organizing daily procedure schedules and accommodating emergency cases as needed
