Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures with accuracy and compassion ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Position patients appropriately and select technical factors based on individual needs
- Operate MRI equipment in compliance with health safety and departmental protocols
- Maintain sterile technique and uphold infection control standards
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control initiatives
- Attend departmental meetings and engage in continuing education
- Serve as MRI Safety Officer and contribute to policy development
- Support special projects and other related duties as assigned
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive working knowledge of diagnostic imaging equipment and proper care procedures
- Ability to operate imaging equipment in compliance with health safety and departmental regulations
- Familiarity with basic and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures with the ability to adapt exams to patient needs and resolve issues effectively
- Understanding and application of age-specific principles of growth development and life stages to ensure appropriate patient care
- Proficiency in current technology including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn and operate various computer systems and software programs including PACS/RIS
Required Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- Two years of MRI experience in a hospital setting preferred
Required Licenses Certifications and/or Registrations
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI required within one year of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
