Job Description

Job Title: SAP Finance Transformation Consultant

Location: Chicago IL

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven SAP Finance Transformation Consultant to join our dynamic team.
  • This role is crucial for leading and supporting end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Finance (FICO) implementation migration and optimization projects.
  • The ideal candidate will possess deep functional expertise across all FICO sub-modules a strong understanding of financial business processes and the ability to drive significant business process re-engineering and digital transformation for our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Advisory & Solution Design:
  • Lead and participate in client workshops to gather business requirements analyze current state finance processes and define future state business processes leveraging SAP S/4HANA Finance capabilities.
  • Develop comprehensive functional designs blueprints and solution architectures for complex finance transformation initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance on SAP FICO best practices and industry-specific financial processes.

SAP S/4HANA Finance Configuration & Implementation:

  • Execute full lifecycle implementations including blueprinting configuration testing cutover and post-go-live support.
  • Perform hands-on configuration across all key SAP FICO modules including but not limited to:
  • General Ledger (GL): New GL functionality parallel accounting ledger approach segment reporting document splitting.
  • Accounts Payable (AP): Invoice processing payment programs vendor master data management integration with procurement.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR): Customer master data incoming payments dunning credit management.
  • Asset Accounting (AA): Asset master data depreciation areas asset acquisitions retirements transfers.
  • Controlling (CO): Cost Center Accounting (CCA) Profit Center Accounting (PCA) Internal Orders (IO) Product Costing (CO-PC) Material Ledger (ML) Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) Overhead Cost Controlling.
  • Implement advanced S/4HANA Finance functionalities such as Universal Journal Central Finance Margin Analysis and Cash Management.

Integration & Data Management:

  • Ensure seamless integration of SAP FICO with other SAP modules (e.g. SD MM PP PS QM HR) and external systems.
  • Define data migration strategies and support data cleansing conversion and loading activities for FICO master and transactional data.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Develop detailed test plans and scripts (unit integration UAT).
  • Lead and execute testing cycles defect resolution and performance tuning.

Training & Change Management:

  • Develop and deliver end-user training programs and materials.
  • Support change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new financial processes and systems.

Project Management & Leadership (for Senior Consultants):

  • Manage project deliverables timelines and budgets.
  • Mentor junior consultants and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of the latest SAP S/4HANA Finance innovations industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and system enhancements post-implementation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration Information Systems or a related field.
  • 10 years of hands-on functional consulting experience in SAP FICO with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA Finance.
  • Proven experience in at least 1 full lifecycle SAP FICO/S/4HANA Finance implementations including blueprinting configuration testing and go-live.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on configuration experience across all major SAP FICO sub-modules: GL AP AR AA CCA PCA IO CO-PA Product Costing Material Ledger.
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting principles (GAAP IFRS) and controlling concepts.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a client-facing role managing expectations and building strong relationships.
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP S/4HANA Finance certification(s).
  • Masters degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Experience with Central Finance Group Reporting SAP Treasury and Risk Management SAP BPC or SAP Analytics Cloud for planning.
  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
  • Prior experience in a professional services or consulting environment.
